Seaguar’s low cost Basix Flourocarbon tested VERY well. Compared to Red Label, Basix has 5.3% higher overall strength, 17.14lb vs 16.23lb. Basix has 5.8% better palomar knot strength, 15.3lb vs 14.4lb. Basix has 31.8% better abrasion resistance, 121.4sec vs 82.7sec. Basix is a little thicker at .01411in vs .01348in. Basix has a little more stretch than Red label. At 50% capacity or 7.5 lbs force it had 2.2% more stretch. Linetestlabs would highly recommend Seaguar Basix based on these test results and it’s current pricing.
